Green Design!

Green Design

In the following weeks we’ll be focusing on green design – making your home beautiful and respecting the environment. You’ll see tips, examples, DIY projects and resources you can use for your home design projects.

Tell us what you would like to learn about green design and we’ll try to include something for you.

To get started, think about what green design means to you. What do you hope to get out of the project and what are you willing to spend.

• Budget, budget, budget. Understanding that a greener interior will impact the design and cost of your project is the easiest way to start prioritizing your end goals. Remember the cost of green design can fluctuate as much as traditional products in their price and looks.

• What do you care about? Energy savings, reducing allergy-causing pollutants, ambient air quality, eco-friendly materials, reuse of existing materials or to simply incorporate a green solution within the whole of the project?

Let us know what you think, and if you have a project that you’re working on at home, send us pics and/or video!

carbon reduction, carbon freedom., passive solar, natural cooling, energy-self-reliance, and yhis does not have to be expensive, if you have a southwall you can collect heat in winter behind a sheet of poly on a black surface, and open a window to bring in the heat!
